Third-party recruiters
Third-party recruiters are agencies,
organizations, or individuals
recruiting candidates for temporary,
part-time, or full-time employment
opportunities other than for
their own needs. This includes
entities that refer or recruit
for profit or not for profit,
and it includes agencies that
collect student information
to be disclosed to employers
for purposes of recruitment
and employment.
Print and fill out the Third-Party
Statement of Understanding. Fax it to 301.314.9114 Attn: Kathy Walters.
Next, create
a Careers4Terps account online
which will be processed shortly
after we receive your fax. When
your account is approved, access
to posting jobs directly will
be given and you will receive
an e-mail notification; however,
access to resume books will
be restricted.
Employment Offers
Recruiters
are asked to provide students
with a reasonable amount
of time to make employment-related
decisions—generally
equating to at least three weeks.
Employers are reminded that
campus recruiting is as much
about building a trusted brand
identity as it is about recruiting
new talent.
Placing
undo pressure on students to
make decisions
or engaging in questionable
recruiting practices not only
jeopardizes an employer’s
ability to recruit our students,
but may adversely affect an
organizations corporate image
for an extended period of time.
Prohibited Job Postings
Jobs
that will not be approved
are:
- Full-time
commission only positions,
- Jobs requiring
a fee payment or
investment prior
to employment, and
- Jobs providing
financial incentives
to staff
who recruit
new hires for the
organization and
for which the recruiting
staff member receives
a portion of the
new hire's commission.
