Employment Opportunities
Our Web-based jobs database, Careers4Terps, lists part-time on- and off-campus jobs, internships, and full-time post-graduation positions.  If you would like to know what type of job announcements we receive or more information about our employment programs, call us at 301.314.7225 and ask for the Resource Room or the Program Director for your College.

Whom Do We Serve?
While some UM colleges and schools have their own career offices, we help all currently enrolled students and alumni/ae of the University of Maryland, College Park.

University Human Resources handles all faculty/staff employment opportunities.

Faculty Sponsors for Experiential Learning Credit
Faculty whose departments offer the 386 course may award academic credit to students who are involved in internship experiences. Faculty sponsors meet with students to set learning objectives and provide evaluation at the end of the internship.
Internship information including a draft form for the Learning Contract are in the student section.

Liaisons to the University Career Center
To stay current on our activities become a liaison to the University Career Center. The role of the liaison is to help students "connect" with us. Liaisons receive information, newsletters, and announcements of upcoming special events. With this information, the liaison is able to connect students and faculty within their departments to relevant career planning and employment information.

Curriculum Development
Faculty and staff may wish to collaborate with our staff about integrating career-related topics into classroom curriculum. A Center liaison is assigned to each college or school to assist faculty and staff and to encourage collaborative programs to increase students career development.

Outreach
The University Career Center staff can speak to classes on career-related topics.  Do you need to cancel a class because you will be out-of-town or have other schedule conflicts?  Let us cover it with a presentation about our services and career/job hunting topics. Contact , Assistant Director for Academic Outreach and Special Programs, at x4.7243 for more information or to schedule an outreach program.

Special Events
University Career Center staff are available to assist faculty and staff who want to offer special events such as panels, guest speakers or job fairs for students in their departments. Contact , Assistant Director for Academic Outreach and Special Programs, at 301.314.7243.

Programs and Events
Every semester, we offer a wide range of programs and special events covering topics related to career exploration, job and internship search, and preparing for graduate and professional school. Many of these programs are sponsored with academic units. Programs tend to be informal in nature, usually with no pre-registration required.
