National Student Employee Week (NSEW) is a week for employers on and off campus to say thank you to student employees It is also a week for students and the University Career Center to say thank you to employers for providing mentoring, leadership, and contributions to student education and growth.
Student Employee Professional Development Opportunities (NSEW Workshops):
If you work while in school we encourage you to reserve a seat at these workshops during NSEW.
Participants will receive a training certificate at each workshop.

“Campus to the Boardroom: Use Your Campus Job Experience To Get There!”

Successful UM Alumni who are currently managers, researchers, government officials, and business owners once were like you . . . a student employee. Learn how to take your campus work experience and translate it to experience employers and graduate schools are seeking.

“The Power of Negotiations: Preparing for Your First Professional Job Offer”
Wednesday, April 16 · 3:30 - 4:30PM

3134 Hornbake Library, South Wing
This workshop is designed to introduce students to the concept of negotiations. Students will understand the basic premise behind negotiating and be provided with useful tips of how to negotiate the first professional job offer.

Affairs Awards Ceremony
Prince George’s Room, Stamp Student Union
All students and employers nominated will be recognized. Scholarships of $500 each will be awarded to the undergraduate and graduate students named “Outstanding Student
Employee of the Year”. Awards for “Outstanding Supervisor” and “Outstanding Student Employment Program” will also be recognized at the ceremony.
