Pre-Nights/Employer Information Sessions

Every year, 100 or more employers come to campus to inform students about the opportunities, career paths, and work environment. Attend these sessions if you are about to graduate and have or would like an interview with the employer.

For freshman, sophomores, and juniors, it is an excellent opportunity to explore companies early, network with recruiters, inquire about internships, learn the ins and outs of interacting with employers. These sessions are offered throughout the academic year.

Learning about the employer from its Web site before the session makes a good impression. Bring specific questions about the organization and their employment opportunities. To show you want to work for this organization, demonstrate your knowledge of their products and/or services.

How can I find out who is coming?
Listed in three places:
(1)  University Career Center's calendar
(2)  Careers4Terps:  Register or login into your account.
(3)  On this page, in the beige column to your left.

When and where are the sessions?
• Offered in the fall and spring
• Generally occur in the early or mid-evening. Check the Careers4Terps calendar or the University Career Center's calendar
• Student Union and other buildings on-campus.  Again check the Careers4Terps calendar.

Note the exact time and location in your personal calendar.

What should I wear?
Business casual is standard, but the detailed information in Careers4Terps or the calendar may have different instructions.
