An internship is a super way to gain career experience and prepare for the work world. Most internships are part-time during the school year and full-time during summer or winter break. Some are paid and others are not. For information about earning academic credit, talk to the Internship Coordinator in your department. For more information, go to About Internships or stop by the University Career Center during Career Assistance hours.

Career & Job Fairs
Employers looking for interns often come to our career fairs. Even if an employer has not come to recruit interns, the fair can be an opportunity to talk to a representative, learn more about an organization, and ask for a contact. Besides the University Career Center, some colleges and departments, such as Criminal Justice, Health and Human Performance, Geography, and Architecture have career days or expos. Some of the attending employers will be recruiting interns. Dates, times, and locations.

University Career Center Resource Room and Bulletin Boards
The Center's Career and Employment Resource Room has books listing internships and employer brochures in Station 3-Gaining Experience. Also, flyers announcing internships are posted on the bulletin boards in our main hallway.

Career Assistance
Talk to one of our counselors or advisors to identify internships. They can suggest specific programs, critique your resume and cover letter, sharpen your interview skills, and identify types of employers who would recruit in your major or career field. Hours
